The chance of getting an Heirloom is 0.2%, but there is also a “pity” system, where if you don’t get it by the 500th pack, you will get one in the next pack 100%. As of March 3d of 2020, Heirlooms are no longer random to obtain, and they were replaced by Heirloom Shards. Thankfully Respawn introduced the Heirloom Shards, during the Override Collection Event. This system got players really mad and forced Respawn to follow a new path. All the other Heirlooms that followed were obtainable through the event that they were introduced in, but it was pretty expensive to get them, as you had to purchase all the event’s items before you unlock the Heirloom, which cost even more. Wraith’s Kunai was the only Heirloom that was never obtainable through an event. Especially after the addition of the rest of the Heirlooms, players were scared that they might earn an Heirloom they don’t want. Unfortunately, in the early days of Apex Legends, you couldn’t get to choose which Heirloom you get, as it was fully randomized.
